Children's Ministry Coordinator (CMC)

Billings, MT

St. Pius X Church in Billings is seeking a full-time Children’s Ministry Coordinator (CMC). This person will supervise a comprehensive catechetical formation program for the youth of the parish from pre-school through grade 5. In addition, the CMC is responsible for the development and implementation of the summer Vacation Bible School program.

The CMC provides a sacramental preparation program for completing the Sacraments of Initiation (Reconciliation, Confirmation, and Eucharist). The CMC is responsible for the Children’s Liturgy of the Word program, for school-age children on weekends. The CMC recruits, trains, and supervises catechists and support staff and reports directly to the Pastor. The applicant should have one to three years of experience minimum in children's ministry and hold a college degree (education, childhood development, or children’s ministry preferred). Must be a fully-initiated, practicing Catholic in good standing.

The Secretariat for Catechetical Formation witnesses to the Gospel through the evangelizing and catechizing mission of the Catholic Church. Under the direction of the secretary for catechetical formation, the catechetical formation consultant assists in fulfilling the mission of the Secretariat for Catechetical Formation: to commit our expertise, experience and energies to lead and assist those who are carrying out the catechetical ministries within the Cleveland Diocese. In carrying out this mission, the incumbent is expected to work collaboratively within the Secretariat for Catechetical Formation, with other ministries in the Diocese, and as a member of the Catechetical Team. The catechetical formation consultant provides leadership, direction, and resources to parish and Catholic school catechetical leaders and catechists in the Diocese of Cleveland.

Coordinator of Religious Education

Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Freehold, NJ, is searching for an enthusiastic individual to join their team as the Coordinator of Religious Education.

This is a full-time position that will include Tuesday evenings and weekends.  The program provides faith formation, catechetical instruction, and sacramental preparation to approximately 600 students and their families in grades one through eight.

The qualified candidate will manage, organize, and implement the religious education program for grades one through eight under the direction of the Pastor.   The coordinator will work with catechists and 65-70 volunteers to engage, teach, and form young Catholics and their families, as well as coordinate the sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation.  This individual will be responsible for recruiting, providing training and spiritual formation of catechists and volunteers engaged in the program.

Job Qualifications:

Family Faith Administrator

Director of the Office of Lifelong Faith Formation

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland, Maine, is seeking a committed, active Catholic to serve as the Director of Lifelong Faith Formation. This diocesan level position is responsible for oversight of all catechetical ministry to every age group throughout the Diocese. The Director initiates, develops and facilitates various programs and services that communicate the vision of lifelong faith formation. The Director provides regular support and development opportunities to pastors and their parish faith formation staffs in carrying out their responsibilities, especially in meeting the needs of parishioners in the areas of catechetics, youth and young adult ministry, adult faith formation, and sacramental preparation including Christian initiation, marriage and family life. The Director must have knowledge of and be committed to the vision of all the major Church documents relating to evangelization and lifelong faith formation. This position supervises 3 full-time staff members.

The Archdiocese of Indianapolis is seeking a Coordinator for Black Catholic Ministry. This full time position will provide leadership, communication, collaboration, and administrative support for Black Catholic Ministry within the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. Essential priorities for this position include development of lay ministry leaders and promotion of resources available to assist pastors and parishes with establishing and growing Black Catholic Ministry.
Qualified candidates must be practicing Catholics in good standing with demonstrated competence in intercultural ministry. Preferred candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in theology, catechesis, pastoral ministry, social service or related field and a working knowledge of ecclesial documents that address the principles and practices guiding Black Catholic Ministry in the Catholic Church.

Archdiocesan Associate Director, Parish Faith Formation

Archdiocese of New Orleans, LA

The Archdiocese of New Orleans Department of Catholic Education and Faith Formation is seeking an Associate Director of Parish Faith Formation, who will be responsible for serving, supporting, and guiding parish DREs/PCLs, Adult Faith Formation Leaders, and RCIA (Christian Initiation) Coordinators throughout the archdiocese. This position necessitates that one be a committed disciple of Jesus Christ, who is knowledgeable and passionate about the Church’s mission of evangelizing catechesis. This individual should have a strong background and experience with the following: family faith formation; adult faith formation; year-round process for Christian initiation; faith formation for individuals with special needs; skills training and ongoing formation for catechetical leaders; and ministry with multi-cultural parishes. This position reports to the Deputy Director of Faith Formation and collaborates with the Associate Director of School Faith Formation (as well as with all members of the departmental team) to support the unified mission and ministry of forming lifelong disciples who witness God’s love with joy in all of our parish and school communities.
 
Requirements:

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
  • Master’s degree in Theology, Religious Education, or related discipline
  • Minimum experience of 5 years in parish/diocesan ministry in catechesis and faith formation
  • Strong knowledge of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, the Directory for Catechesis, and other documents relevant to evangelization and catechesis
  • Experience in directing/facilitating family faith formation
  • Excellent communication skills and pastoral sensitivity
  • Proficient with technology, including Microsoft Office and Google Suites
  • Strongly Preferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish)
