Director of Faith Formation

Fiskdale (Sturbridge), MA

St. Anne St. Patrick Parish in Fiskdale (Sturbridge), MA is seeking a Director of Faith Formation.

This is a full-time position which can include weekends and evenings.  The program provides faith formation, catechetical instruction, and sacramental preparation for children, teens and adults, in conjunction with the pastor.  The Director is responsible for the recruiting and ongoing training of volunteer catechists.  The Director will coordinate the preparation and instruction for the sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation.  The Director will develop a Youth Ministry program to engage middle-school and high school students which can include activities such as mission trips, service opportunities and retreats.  The Director will develop a program for the on-going faith formation of adult members of the parish community.

Job requirements

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required.  Prior experience in faith formation/religious education is required.  The Director must have both strong organizational and communication skills.

Coordinator of Religious Education

Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Freehold, NJ, is searching for an enthusiastic individual to join their team as the Coordinator of Religious Education.

This is a full-time position that will include Tuesday evenings and weekends.  The program provides faith formation, catechetical instruction, and sacramental preparation to approximately 600 students and their families in grades one through eight.

The qualified candidate will manage, organize, and implement the religious education program for grades one through eight under the direction of the Pastor.   The coordinator will work with catechists and 65-70 volunteers to engage, teach, and form young Catholics and their families, as well as coordinate the sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation.  This individual will be responsible for recruiting, providing training and spiritual formation of catechists and volunteers engaged in the program.

Job Qualifications:

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in theology or a related field is preferred, candidates with higher degrees are encouraged to apply. Background and experience will be taken into consideration for a qualified candidate with a bachelor’s degree in an unrelated major.  Proven leadership skills as well as effective oral and written communication skills are necessary for success.   Proficiency in Microsoft Office, electronic communication, and strong organization and planning abilities are a must.  The successful candidate must be a practicing Catholic in good standing. Family Faith Administrator

Director of the Office of Lifelong Faith Formation

Diocese of Portland (ME)

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland, Maine, is seeking a committed, active Catholic to serve as the Director of Lifelong Faith Formation. This diocesan level position is responsible for oversight of all catechetical ministry to every age group throughout the Diocese. The Director initiates, develops and facilitates various programs and services that communicate the vision of lifelong faith formation. The Director provides regular support and development opportunities to pastors and their parish faith formation staffs in carrying out their responsibilities, especially in meeting the needs of parishioners in the areas of catechetics, youth and young adult ministry, adult faith formation, and sacramental preparation including Christian initiation, marriage and family life. The Director must have knowledge of and be committed to the vision of all the major Church documents relating to evangelization and lifelong faith formation. This position supervises 3 full-time staff members.  
 
The successful candidate for this position will be a Catholic in good standing who has an MA in Theology, Pastoral Ministry, Religious Education/Catechetics or related field preferred, BA required, with a minimum of 5 years of full-time experience in faith formation and/or youth and young adult ministry at the parish and diocesan levels.
