Director of Faith Formation

Our Lady of Good Counsel is a growing parish with many young families situated in the World Golf Village area of St. Augustine. This family centered population needs a Faith Formation Director who is comfortable and adept at engaging parents in the formation of their children and we can provide families with a variety of faith experiences.
Specifically, the director oversees the parish catechetical program in the name of the pastor and provides leadership to assist the parish community in building a solid foundation for spirituality, Christian living, service, and evangelization. As with any growing parish, there are space issues which require the leader to be flexible and to be able to manage many volunteers.
This is a full-time position with standard diocesan benefits. The parish is looking for someone with an M.A. in theology or religious education. A bachelor’s or lay ecclesial ministry certification with years of experience will be considered.

Coordinator of Lay Formation Programming
Diocese of St. Augustine Office of Christian Formation, Jacksonville, FL
The Office of Christian Formation is seeking a Coordinator of Lay Formation Programming.
A primary part of this position is to provide the day-to-day leadership for the administrative areas of the Diocesan Ministry Formation Program (MFP). Now in its 34th year, the MFP is modeled on the outlines for lay formation found in Co-Workers in the Vineyard and Called and Gifted. While this is the primary role, the coordinator will also be responsible for the other administrative areas of the office, including catechist certification tracking and the organization and execution of other adult faith formation opportunities.
The office is fast paced and needs someone who can work independently, accurately, and provide leadership in these areas. In addition to the coordination of programming, occasionally the coordinator is called upon to teach.

Catechetical Coordinator
St. Clare of Assisi, Surprise, AZ

This role is full time and will require an individual to be onsite during the Wednesday evening sessions (4:00 pm – 8:00 pm) and periodically supporting weekend catechetical activities and recruitment of volunteers.

Pastoral Assistant for Faith Formation
St. Charles Borromeo, Montgomery Township, NJ
The Catholic Community of St. Charles Borromeo, in the Diocese of Metuchen, NJ, is currently seeking a Pastoral Assistant for Faith Formation.
The GIFT program (Growing In Faith Together) provides faith formation, catechetical instruction and sacramental preparation for children and families. The Pastoral Assistant for Faith Formation coordinates the preparation and instruction for the sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation, and creates and coordinates a dynamic family faith formation for children from first through eighth grade.
The Pastoral Assistant also coordinates programs periodically needed for young people with special needs, as well as those in need of a catechumenal model for the. Sacraments of Initiation.
Additionally, the Pastoral Assistant works together with the Pastoral Team, meeting at least twice a month to assess parish life and to plan and coordinate parish observances, such as Lent and Advent.

Director of Religious Education

To that end, the Director of Religious Education (DRE) is responsible for working with the pastor to oversee the religious education and formation programs at St. Gerard Majella Parish and School, as well as to organize and oversee the preparation for and celebration of the Sacraments for the children of the parish.
The DRE will develop and implement a curriculum in the school that aligns with Catholic teaching, and will work to equip teachers to implement that curriculum. Likewise, the DRE will work with the pastor to oversee the Parish School of Religion (PSR) program to provide meaningful religious education for children within the parish. The Director will develop and implement a curriculum in the PSR program that aligns with Catholic teaching, and will recruit and train volunteer catechists to help implement that curriculum.
