Coordinator of Lay Formation Programming

Diocese of St. Augustine

The Office of Christian Formation oversees the formation of the lay faithful in the diocese.  A key member of the office staff is the Coordinator of Lay Formation as they oversee the diocesan lay ministry program as well as the certification of teachers and catechists.  It is a busy and fast paced office, and we are seeking someone with a heart for forming the faithful.  The Coordinator of Formation Programming provides day-to-day leadership for the administrative areas of the Diocesan Ministry Formation Program (MFP).  While this is the primary role, the Coordinator will also be responsible for some administrative areas in the Christian Formation Office.  This would include catechist certification tracking and the organization and execution of other adult formation opportunities as assigned. Some key requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Catholic theology or religious education (Master’s preferred) A graduate of a certified lay ministry program would be considered with years of progressive experience. 
  • Familiarity with essential Church documents pertaining to formation
  • Knowledge and appreciation of the structure of the Catholic Church.
  • 3-5 years leading the formation of adults.
  • Candidate must be a practicing Roman Catholic possessing the ability to respect, promote, accommodate, and not conflict with the mission, moral and social teachings, doctrines, and laws of the Roman Catholic.
  • Exceptional organizational and management skills.
  • Ability to administer programming to meet the assessed needs of Diocesan entities.
  • Good interpersonal communication and pastoral skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and assess the adult learner.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English would be an asset.
  • Proficient with information technology including Microsoft Office Suite, social media usage, web site contributor level should be proficient.
  • The ability to respect and value the cultural richness that makes up the Diocese of St. Augustine and society and strives to celebrate commonalities and differences among various groups.  
  • Ability to project oneself in a positive, professional, sincere, and friendly manner.  Must maintain appropriate professional business attire and behavior.

Director or Coordinator of Family Faith Formation

Holy Faith Parish, Gainesville, FL

Located in the shadow of the University of Florida, Holy Faith Parish is a service minded parish dedicated to the formation of all its members.  Holy Faith is looking for its next Director of Family Faith Formation.  This full-time position is directly responsible for the religious formation and sacramental preparation of its young people in a family centered formation model.  The Director will lead the faith community to maturity of faith through instruction and formation in the Christian life.  While the parish would prefer a director, they would consider a coordinator with good experience and education.  The parish has a modern Family Life Center that houses the space for both classroom and large family formation opportunities.

Faith Formation Coordinator

St. Clare of Assisi, Surprise, AZ

St. Clare of Assisi is a vibrant and welcoming Catholic community dedicated to fostering spiritual growth and education. The parish is dedicated to evangelization and informing Intentional Disciples to share the Gospel. We are seeking an enthusiastic and organized Faith Formation Coordinator to join our team and help guide our Children’s Family Faith Formation program.

The Faith Formation Coordinator will manage the implementation of catechetical programs for children ages 1 through Grade 5; and middle school or high school students who are out of sequence for receiving the Sacraments. This full-time, on-site role requires collaboration with the Director of Evangelization, parish staff, volunteers, and families to ensure effective faith formation and compliance within diocesan guidelines.

The Director of Youth and Family Faith Formation at St. Mary Church in Athens will provide visionary leadership for a parish community of approximately 270 families within the Diocese of Knoxville. Coordinator of Life Issues and Ministry

Archdiocese of Washington

In response to the Gospel call to uphold the dignity of every human life and in recognition of the pastoral responsibility of the Church to be a prophetic voice in society, the Archdiocese of Washington has created an Office of Life Issues. This Office will be led by the Coordinator of Life Ministry, who will be tasked with serving as a unifying and strategic resource in the coordination of support to pastors, parish communities, Catholic faithful and organizations within the archdiocese in their mission to defend life from conception to natural death. This role will report to the Secretary of Evangelization and Synod Renewal and will Coordinate with other archdiocesan departments including the Office of Justice and Peace, Youth Ministry, Catholic Schools as well as with Catholic Charities.

The salary for this position is $75.000 to $85,000 with excellent benefits.
