Associate Director, Catechetical Office

The AD must be a person on fire for Jesus and in love with His Church, who can inspire catechetical leaders and catechists throughout the diocese. The AD provides formation, tools and resources necessary for parishes to carry out catechetical ministry with families and people of all ages (Jesus’ mission). The AD will help parish leaders in their ministry with families by providing training, materials, consultation, and support for program design and implementation. The AD needs to be a leader who is highly motivated and organized, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The AD needs to have the ability to cooperate with develop strategies for catechetical ministry (dreaming, planning, and implementing initiatives) and to manage programming.

Regional Director of Youth Ministry and Discipleship

The Regional Director of Youth Ministry and Discipleship oversees the youth (grades 7 -12) and discipleship efforts, in multiple parishes within a defined geographical area within the Diocese of Greensburg. The Regional Director is responsible for creating teams that cooperate to fill the youth ministry needs of the parishes. The Regional Director of Youth Ministry also is responsible for assisting the Regional Direction of Faith Formation with leadership and resources for the parishes to build a solid foundation in spirituality, discipleship, catechesis, and youth ministry through different methods of learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist parishes in designing a catechetical program which support lifelong faith formation and discipleship.
  • Coordinate approaches to and implementation of multiple parish youth faith development.
  • Evaluate the youth ministry programs of each assigned parish and identify approaches to use shared programming and resources across the parishes.

Director of Faith Formation

St. Monica Catholic Church is seeking the person God is calling to serve as our Director of Faith Formation. This position is responsible for directing our programs for catechesis, sacramental preparation and formation of our children in Pre-k through 8th grade.  Responsibilities include choosing curriculum, training and supervising volunteer parishioner catechists who work with children or with parental adults.  Saint Monica, www.stmonicaindy.org, is a dynamic intercultural and multilingual parish of approximately 1700 households. Director of the Catholic Parenting Initiative

The Catholic Parenting Initiative will provide resources, programs, and formational experiences that will strengthen ministries and supports, and give parish faith communities confidence to walk alongside parents and caregivers as they share their faith and values with their children. 

The Director is responsible for implementing the 2023 Grant Proposal for the Lilly Endowment’s Christian Parenting and Caregiver Program, at the direction of and with the support of the CEO. This is a five-year position, based on grant funding.

Director of Catechesis

Archdiocese of Indianapolis

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Indianapolis is seeking a full-time Director of Catechesis to lead in the development of the archdiocesan catechetical plan, including the formation of catechists, as well as coordinate pastoral care across the archdiocese. This position will also regularly consult and collaborate with various offices and leadership in parishes, schools and agencies, but especially within the Secretariat for Catholic Schools.

Candidates must be professed and practicing Catholics in good standing in the Church with a minimum of 5 years of highly successful ministry experience in a leadership role. A master’s degree in catechetics, religious education or a related field is strongly preferred. Intercultural competency is required. Successful candidates must have a demonstrated ability to promote collaboration and foster teamwork, excellent oral and written communications skills, strong administrative and organizational skills, the ability to supervise and lead, and the ability to model lifelong learning by a commitment to acquiring new skills and mentoring others to do the same.

Director of the Office of Lifelong Faith Formation

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland, Maine, is seeking a committed, active Catholic to serve as the Director of Lifelong Faith Formation. This diocesan level position is responsible for oversight of all catechetical ministry to every age group throughout the Diocese. The Director initiates, develops and facilitates various programs and services that communicate the vision of lifelong faith formation. The Director provides regular support and development opportunities to pastors and their parish faith formation staffs in carrying out their responsibilities, especially in meeting the needs of parishioners in the areas of catechetics, youth and young adult ministry, adult faith formation, and sacramental preparation including Christian initiation, marriage and family life. The Director must have knowledge of and be committed to the vision of all the major Church documents relating to evangelization and lifelong faith formation. This position supervises 3 full-time staff members.  
 
The successful candidate for this position will be a Catholic in good standing who has an MA in Theology, Pastoral Ministry, Religious Education/Catechetics or related field preferred, BA required, with a minimum of 5 years of full-time experience in faith formation and/or youth and young adult ministry at the parish and diocesan levels.

Archdiocesan Associate Director, Parish Faith Formation

Archdiocese of New Orleans

The Archdiocese of New Orleans Department of Catholic Education and Faith Formation is seeking an Associate Director of Parish Faith Formation, who will be responsible for serving, supporting, and guiding parish DREs/PCLs, Adult Faith Formation Leaders, and RCIA (Christian Initiation) Coordinators throughout the archdiocese. This position necessitates that one be a committed disciple of Jesus Christ, who is knowledgeable and passionate about the Church’s mission of evangelizing catechesis. This individual should have a strong background and experience with the following: family faith formation; adult faith formation; year-round process for Christian initiation; faith formation for individuals with special needs; skills training and ongoing formation for catechetical leaders; and ministry with multi-cultural parishes. This position reports to the Deputy Director of Faith Formation and collaborates with the Associate Director of School Faith Formation (as well as with all members of the departmental team) to support the unified mission and ministry of forming lifelong disciples who witness God’s love with joy in all of our parish and school communities.
 
Requirements:

  • Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
  • Master’s degree in Theology, Religious Education, or related discipline
  • Minimum experience of 5 years in parish/diocesan ministry in catechesis and faith formation
  • Strong knowledge of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, the Directory for Catechesis, and other documents relevant to evangelization and catechesis
  • Experience in directing/facilitating family faith formation
  • Excellent communication skills and pastoral sensitivity
  • Proficient with technology, including Microsoft Office and Google Suites
  • Strongly Preferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Parish Coordinator of Youth Ministry

We are seeking a full-time Youth Minister. This position will work as part of an experienced Youth Ministry team of volunteers to coordinate youth ministry and preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation. The Youth Minister will have the opportunity to work with people in a variety of ways: as a guide and mentor for teens, as a partner with parents/families, and as a leader for the adult volunteers. The goal of the Youth Minister is to assist in creating a youth centered culture within the parish and helping to lead youth closer to Jesus Christ. Some responsibilities of this position include: coordinating youth ministry sessions for high school teens, organizing retreats and special events, coordinating a one year Confirmation preparation program, and regularly communicating with teens, volunteers, and families.
